Position Summary
We are seeking a Field Engineer to join our project teams in Big Sky and Paradise Valley. This role bridges field operations and project management, ensuring accurate documentation, efficient communication, and high-quality execution. The Field Engineer supports Superintendents, Foremen, and Project Managers while gaining deep, hands-on construction experience across all project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, review, and distribute timecards; verify accurate coding, hours, and legibility.
- Process receipts and code invoices.
- Manage Procore project folders, including daily logs and project photos.
- Track T&M work weekly and report progress to the Project Manager.
- Support RFIs and manage architect/engineer communication.
- Assist with material take-offs, procurement, and shop drawing reviews.
- Maintain and distribute weekly reports, 3-week look-aheads, and updates to the master schedule.
- Support project closeout, punch lists, and quality control enforcement.
- Serve as a communication link between the Superintendent and crew.
Hands-On Field Skills
- Perform carpentry techniques (framing, trim, siding) and general carpentry from start to finish.
- Operate forklifts, skid steers, and lifts (certification required).
- Safely and proficiently use hand and power tools.
- Apply advanced construction math and train others in its use.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Perform physical labor at construction sites.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and work at heights or in confined spaces.
- Frequent walking, standing, climbing, kneeling, stooping, and reaching.
- Work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work overtime or weekends based on workload demands.
Technology & Certification Requirements
- Certifications: CPR/First Aid, OSHA 30 (or willingness to obtain).
- Skills/Software: Microsoft Office Suite, AutoDesk, Bluebeam.
- Skills: Proficient in blueprint reading, construction math, and building codes.
