We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our team at [School Name], a mission-driven educational institution in Los Angeles. This role is responsible for owning the school's budgeting process, managing financial planning, and ensuring accurate, transparent reporting. As a key partner across multiple departments, the Finance Manager will play a vital role in aligning resources with organizational goals and supporting leadership with data-driven insights.
*Key Responsibilities
Lead the annual budgeting process and oversee ongoing budget management.Partner with department heads to develop, monitor, and manage budgets, ensuring alignment with school objectives.Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses for leadership.Provide strategic financial guidance to support decision-making across academic, administrative, and operational teams.Implement and maintain best practices in financial controls, reporting, and compliance.Translate financial data into actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and internal policies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred).5+ years of progressive experience in finance, budgeting, or accounting (experience in education or non-profit sector a plus).Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Proven ability to work cross-functionally and present financial information to non-financial audiences.Proficiency with Excel, budgeting tools, and financial software
