Firewall Administrator – Team LeadLocation: Contractor Site / RemoteClearance Required: Secret (IT-I Critical Sensitive)IA Level: IAT-II (i.e. Security + CE)Required Certification: Check Point CCSA, CCSE, or CCSMOverview:Nationwide IT Services (NIS) is seeking an experienced Firewall Administrator – Team Lead for a potential opportunity to oversee and guide a technical team in supporting firewall and network security operations. This role includes managing resources, coordinating project activities, and ensuring timely, accurate reporting and performance outcomes in alignment with government requirements.Opportunity Type: Proposal-Based / Potential AwardKey Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day supervision and leadership of vendor personnel, ensuring optimal scheduling, task execution, and performance.
- Serve as the primary escalation point to resolve technical and operational issues while ensuring proper allocation of staff and resources.
- Collaborate with government stakeholders, the Vendor PM, CORs, and user representatives to ensure solutions align with mission needs and deliver high customer satisfaction.
- Work under general guidance to design, plan, and execute tasks from initial concept through completion.
- Develop specifications and solutions for firewall and network security requirements ranging from simple to moderately complex environments.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience in network security and firewall administration.
- Proficient knowledge of firewall technologies, network security configurations, and related hardware/software.
- Understanding of Information Assurance (IA) best practices and DoD/DLA security standards, regulations, and policies.
- Strong understanding of LAN/WAN operations.
- Experience with incident ticketing and workflow management systems.
- Ability to perform installation, configuration, and ongoing sustainment of firewalls and network appliances.
- Active Secret Clearance (IT-I Critical Sensitive)
- IAT-II Baseline Certification (per DoD 8570) (Security +CE)
- One of the following Check Point certifications:
- Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA)
- Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE)
- Check Point Security Master (CCSM)
