First Episode Psychosis Program Coordinator

Position Summary

The FEP Program Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation of evidence-based interventions for individuals aged 15-25 experiencing a first episode of psychosis. This role provides direct clinical care, supports multidisciplinary collaboration, conducts outreach and psychoeducation, and ensures fidelity to SAMHSA's Coordinated Specialty Care model. The Coordinator will lead efforts to tailor the FEP program to meet the unique cultural and geographic needs of the Mat-Su Valley and the State of Alaska.

  • This position requires compliance with MSHS' compliance standards, including the Code of Conduct, Compliance Program, and policies and procedures. Such compliance will be an element considered as part of the regular performance evaluation.
  • Incumbent develops an outreach plan for agency, coalition, and community presentations.
  • Participates in or may present staff in-service training regarding FEP, both internally and/or with other agencies.
  • In collaboration with the Behavioral Health Clinical Manager, creates a model for treating FEP that incorporates the best practice principles of FEP service provision with the culture and geographic considerations of the Mat-Su Valley
  • Meets with potentially eligible individuals and families to engage them in services.
  • Demonstrates competencies in providing integrated assessment, individual, group, and family therapy using best practice approaches to treatment.
  • Develops and maintains clinical and financial performance indicators that measure the program's effectiveness and meet state grant reporting requirements.
  • Assists with the development and monitors the program budget.
  • Participates in treatment teams as a consultant.
  • Maintains accurate documentation in the consumer medical record within the time frame established by the Agency and professional standards.
  • May provide client and family engagement and/or consultation with other agencies and their clients pursuing FEP treatment.
