Post Chicken and Beer is looking for a competent food expeditor to help keep a smooth workflow between the kitchen and the tables. You will work in a fast-paced environment to get proper orders out faster and more efficiently. As a food expeditor, you must have excellent communication skills and experience in a restaurant’s hectic setting. You must have enough stamina to be in constant motion and skills to coordinate and organize processes and people. The goal is to make service faster and better to help enhance our quality and reputation.  Candidates should be experts in the arena of food and beer service, be eager to learn, cool under pressure and adaptable.The Post is a gathering place for the community, born from a love of fried chicken and a thirst for great beers. Check us out: www.postchickenandbeer.comResponsibilitiesEnsure the efficient flow of orders from the servers to the kitchenEnsure orders are being prepared with the correct priorityAssist in the final preparation of dishesCheck dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperatureDeliver orders to maintain fast serviceEliminate obstacles in service, food preparation lines or dishwashingInspect the premises according to quality and sanitation standards and assist in cleaningTransfer important information between the kitchen and the wait staff (e.g. when a customer has a particular request)Handle complaints from clients to preserve the restaurant’s reputationSupport other tasks as needed (e.g. telephone orders)
Requirements and skillsProven experience as food expeditor or other restaurant positionUnderstanding of health and safety rules in a restaurantDexterity in using kitchen equipment or utensils and carry heavy traysWell-organized and ability to lead and direct peopleExcellent communication and negotiation skillsOutstanding coordination and multi-tasking abilitiesA customer-oriented approachGreat physical enduranceHigh school diploma; Higher degree in hospitality or relevant field will be appreciatedFood handling certification may be required according to legal regulationsAvailability to Work 3+ Shifts a Week

Here’s the Skinny:
  • Full-Time or Part-Time (full-availability: nights & weekends)
  • Hourly wage with tips $22-$26 per hour (with opportunity to earn more!)
  • TIPS and/or Responsible Alcohol Service Certification (we’ll provide training!)
