SUMMARY
The LunchMaster is a mission-driven food service provider committed to delivering healthy, fresh meals to schools and communities. Our production facility in Hayward supports a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where quality and efficiency are top priorities.
The Pack Crew Member is responsible for accurately and efficiently packing meals according to daily production needs. This role plays a key part in ensuring all meals are properly assembled, labeled, and organized for distribution. Attention to detail, speed, and adherence to food safety standards are critical to success in this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assemble and pack individual and bulk meals according to packing lists and menu requirements
· Ensure correct components are included in each meal and verify accuracy before sealing
· Follow all food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling of food items and PPE usage
· Label meals correctly with appropriate stickers, dates, and contents
· Work closely with team leaders and other pack crew members to meet daily production goals
· Maintain cleanliness of packing stations and equipment throughout shift
· Identify and report any inconsistencies or quality issues to the Packaging Manager
· Support inventory control by reporting shortages or overages of meal components
· Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing constructive feedback on the packing process and recommending workflow enhancements.
· Support the maintenance of a clean and organized work environment, including packing areas, breakrooms, and restrooms.
· Assist with other production or distribution tasks as needed
· Early morning shifts (start times vary between 2:00 AM and 5:00 AM)
· Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Previous experience in food packing or production is a plus but not required
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks
· Strong attention to detail and quality
· Team player with good communication skills
· Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
· Must be reliable and punctual
· Comfortable working in a cold production environment
· Must pass a background check
LANGUAGE SKILLS
A working knowledge of the English language, both verbal and written; Spanish is a plus.
Must have the ability to interpret written and verbal requests as required. Strong oral and written communication skills coupled with the interpersonal skills are needed to create and maintain a team centered environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands of this position are typical of those found in a warehouse & foodservice setting. Some lifting will be required. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. is required.

The environment can be fast paced and hectic with a high volume of work.

Compensation: $17.38 per hour
