Job Description

Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain and troubleshoot all systems within the thermoforming department, including material

feed system (blender, vacuum loading system, mixers, surge bins, etc.), process and chilled

water systems (cooling tower and pump tank, chiller and chilled water pump tank), compressed

air system, extrusion line, thermoforming line(s) (including trim press), primary and secondary

grinders (including evacuation systems), and all support systems utilized in the department.

  • Oversees and coordinates maintenance activities with the maintenance technician, as well as

operators who are utilized to perform basic maintenance tasks.

  • Maintain and oversee the day to day usage of the PM (Preventive Maintenance) system, and

assign PM activities as necessary to both operators and the maintenance tech.

  • Coordinate with outside vendors to perform maintenance on all systems when the required

maintenance is either warranty related or outside the scope of capabilities within the

thermoforming department or Aptar-CSP Technologies.

  • Maintain appropriate and adequate supply of spare parts to support all systems within the

department, and coordinate orders for parts needed - both to replenish spare parts stock or to

procure needed items for equipment repair.

  • Maintain thermoforming tooling to include form tools, trim tools and all associated change parts.

This includes regular cleaning, repair of damage (whether performed internally or externally),

and coordinating with the Production Manager or Operations Manager when replacement tooling

is needed.

  • Maintain all books, prints, and other documentation (printed and electronic) for all systems within

the department.

Qualifications/Education/Special Skills

  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Background in Industrial Maintenance
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems
  • Familiarity with servo drives/motors
  • Prior experience with electrical systems (both AC and DC) in voltage ranging up to 480V
  • Prior experience with formal PM program
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic prints and schematics
  • Familiarity with food safety requirements and Food Packaging HACCP experience preferre
