Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Food Services and Stores, you will prepare meals and snacks to achieve required taste and appearance in accordance with school standard preparation guidelines and recipes for students, clients and staff.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations
Thoughtful execution of daily menu items and special needs meals
Preparation of meals and snacks to achieve required taste and appearance in accordance with school standard preparation guidelines and recipes
Maintain food quality standards including appearance, taste and nutritional requirements. Prepare food for students/clients on special diets
Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times in accordance with sanitation and safety regulations and procedures of by doing dishes, cleaning equipment and floor and any other surface that requires it.
Order, receive and organize materials in a timely fashion
Maintain kitchen inventory through proper labeling and rotation of goods.
Arrange cooking schedule and storage of cooked items to assure proper temperature of hot foods at cottage serving time(s).
Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Deliver meals to appropriate cottages within the expected delivery window using a hand truck/dolly or golf cart
To perform other related duties and tasks as assigned.
Competencies
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
Ability to follow directions, read and adhere to standard recipes and guidelines;
Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently;
Ability to observe health and safety procedures
Ability to use weight and volume measurements
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma; two years related experience
Experience working with allergies preferred.
Ability to get ServSafe certified within 6 months.
Valid drivers license preferred
Physical Demands
Normal for a residential school kitchen environment.
Ability to lift up to 50l bs.
Schedule:
Saturdays and Sundays, 10:00am- 6:30pm,
Flexibility for additional 4 hours on Fridays
