Job Title: Food Service Supply Technician
Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week)Hours: 5:30am- 2 pm, 6 am- 2:30 pm, 6:30 am- 3 pm (Mon- Fri) 5:30 am- 2 pm (Sat/Sun)
Note: This position does require weekends.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Service Supply Technician to manage and maintain the inventory and supplies necessary for the smooth operation of food service in our institution. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring food preparation and service runs efficiently and in compliance with health and safety standards. The position is ideal for someone with experience in warehousing and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Keep track of food and non-food supplies, ensuring all items are stocked appropriately, and manage reorders to prevent shortages.
- Receiving and Inspecting Deliveries: Verify the accuracy, quality, and condition of incoming supplies. Check deliveries for damage and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Organizing Storage: Properly store food and supplies in accordance with safety and sanitation standards to ensure quality and compliance.
- Disposal of Expired or Damaged Items: Ensure that outdated, spoiled, or damaged products are disposed of properly, maintaining cleanliness and safety in storage areas.
- Ordering Supplies: Work closely with vendors to maintain proper stock levels. Manage the ordering process to ensure timely delivery and sufficient supply levels.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of inventory, supply usage, and deliveries. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible for auditing purposes.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards, particularly regarding food safety, cleanliness, and overall workplace safety.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in warehousing or inventory management, particularly in food service or a similar environment, is preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry approximately 35 pounds during deliveries.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively in English, both for safety and operational purposes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and storage regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Requirements:
- No need for pallet jack driving experience, but candidates should be comfortable with physical tasks.
