The Food Service Technician position is a part-time role with a daytime schedule, with an hourly rate of $23.00.
What you will do:
Empower people to live their best life by assisting them with daily living skills.
Teach skills that increase our residential participants' independence and self-esteem.
- Empower people to live their best life by preparing and portioning meals and snacks.
- Under the direction of the Food Service Manager, provide meal options to meet special dietary needs of residents with food allergies or intolerances.
- Assist participants residing in our residential homes by delivering prepared meals.
- Collaborate with the nutrition team to ensure all equipment is functioning properly and food is prepared in accordance with recipes and strict safety and quality standards.
- Stock shelves, use inventory appropriately and assist in maintaining proper stock levels.
- Complete paperwork accurately including checklist records of food, supplies and equipment, as well as temperature logs, production log counts and prep lists.
- Clean and maintain kitchen, utensils and equipment according to quality standards for sanitation.
- Communicate positively with nutrition team and residential staff, participants and others.

- At least two years of experience in a food service operation serving a population of individuals with specialized medical and/or nutritional needs.
- High school diploma (or equivalent experience).
- Valid driver's license.
- Some culinary training preferred.
- Solid judgment, organization, and problem-solving skills-to work with varying personalities and support needs.
- Ability to complete agency training-provided by St. Louis Arc at no cost.
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to navigate software systems.
- Hepatitis A short series required-can be provided by St. Louis Arc at no cost.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours) and lift up to 75 pounds from floor to shoulders.
