Job Description
The Good Samaritan Home of Quincy is looking for an energetic Dietary Aide to join our growing team! The right candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively and be able to provide excellent customer service to our residents. The primary purpose of your job position is to perform a variety of routine tasks within the dietary department by current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, to ensure a successful dietary program is maintained at all times.
Part time, 4:00pm to 8:00pm during the week and every other weekend 4:00pm - 8:00pm
PAY RANGE: $15.25 - $17.25 PER HOUR

Responsibilities
Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required
Serves meals in the health center pantries
Sets up tables in the health center dining room(s) and breaks them down after the meals
Transports hot and cold foods to and from the health center pantries
Transports all required non-food items to and from the health center pantries
Washes silver, glass, china in dish machines in pantries as per regulation
Provides health center snacks and supplements per diet orders
Maintains stock and sanitation levels in coffee and juice machines in dining rooms
Sets tables and maintains work stations in proper order
Takes order, provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously
Clears dishes from tables during and after meal service
Answers pertinent questions about menu items
Ensures that orders match Physician’s diet orders
Qualifications
Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and understand measurements and conversions
Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred, but not required
Ability to plan, organize and set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards
Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires empathy for the elderly
