Job Description
At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Temecula, CA! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Temecula, CA
Details:
- In-Person Tutoring in Temecula, CA
- Schedule: 4 sessions a week for 1.5 hours
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging, structured instruction in foundational literacy skills, including letter recognition, phonological awareness, early decoding, and reading fluency.
- Support early math development, including number sense, counting, patterns, and basic operations.
- Use multisensory and visual teaching strategies tailored to the student’s needs and learning style.
- Incorporate the student’s interests—such as basketball, swimming, beach activities, and the outdoors—into sessions to enhance motivation and connection.
- Conduct an initial academic assessment to determine current skill levels and inform individualized instructional planning.
- Provide regular progress updates and collaborate with the student’s educational team as needed.
- Support language development with clear, repetitive, and supportive communication strategies, mindful of apraxia-related challenges.
- Use consistent routines, reinforcement strategies, and visual supports to promote engagement and independence.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with students with Down syndrome, apraxia, and/or dyslexia.
- Background in special education, speech-language support, or related fields.
- Skilled in multisensory literacy and math instruction for early learners.
- Comfortable conducting informal academic assessments to guide instruction.
- Patient, upbeat, and able to build rapport through shared interests and strengths.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with families and support teams.
