Job Description:

Summary of Role

This role will be responsible for creating statistical engineering models using technical computing platforms and performing fundamental analysis on variables pertaining to fuel supply and demand dynamics.

Main Responsibilities

  • Will initially spearhead the build-out of a fundamentals/research platform from the ground up for the North American Natural Gas Group.
  • Develop weather models using atmospheric forecasts data
  • Manage the risk of energy trading strategies based on solutions to heat transfer equations for stochastic processes in the energy markets.
  • Lead the application of a network equilibrium model.
  • Research domestic transportation fuel consumption and power plant cycle efficiencies.
  • Build regional pipeline balances for North America.
  • Develop models and forecasting tools for regional supply and demand.
  • Build and maintain daily, weekly and monthly price and fundamental reports for traders, management and customers.
  • Constantly track regulatory events and expansion and infrastructure news.
  • Work closely with traders to generate trade ideas and identify the associated risks..
  • Persistently seek to improve information flow, the use of IT in data management, and overall communication exchanges between all departments as necessary.
  • Be willing to assist in the pricing and analysis of structured deals from time to time.
  • Be flexible and helpful with other start up tasks as necessary.

Profile

  • 5 + years' experience in Commodities Engineering, or Natural Gas fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint with data coding expertise.
  • University Degree
  • Team Player, flexible, good communications skills.
  • Salary Range $180K-$200K
