General Accountant

Position Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Bedding Segment Controller, the General Accountant will be significantly involved in the monthly closing process, day to day operations of the Bedding Segment accounting department, and additional projects as needed. This role will be integral to achieving strategic financial and operational goals, therefore cross collaboration between various departments will be a keystone to success.

Position Responsibilities:

• Prepare required journal entries in connection with the month-end close.
• Prepare account reconciliations as assigned in connection with month-end close.
• Apply proper accounting methods, policies and principles to assigned tasks.
• Support Haiti accounting team in day-to-day activities.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data to support reporting and financial decision making.
• Work with operations and production teams to consolidate and provide relevant reports for management decisions.
• Develop strong working knowledge of our business to support multiple departments and achieve company goals.
• Backup AP Team as needed to ensure proper expense recognition and timeliness of payables input.
• Review of divisional expense reports in Concur system.
• Assist Controller with document support for the company's year-end audit and quarterly reviews with the company's internal and external auditors.
• Various projects as assigned by the Controller.

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• Strong Excel and financial software package experience.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong collaborator and team player.
• Willingness and ability to multi-task and pivot as necessary.
• 2-4 Years experience in related field preferred.

Education:

• BA in Accounting, Business or Finance from a 4-year institution.
