About the Position
KickingBird Golf Club is Edmond's oldest course and one of Oklahoma's premier public courses. The Golf Maintenance Worker I will help keep this 18-hole championship course tidy and in good working order.
A Golf Maintenance Worker I typically starts and ends their days early, with a schedule of 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, although hours are adjusted seasonally. Most of the day, this position will work outdoors in all weather conditions (excluding hazardous working conditions). They will be required to work on the weekends and occasional holidays, as well as work call back hours extending beyond normal working hours.
This position is Safety/Security Sensitive and is subject to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, and random drug/alcohol screenings.
Qualifications
- High school degree or GED equivalent
- 7 to 11 months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and training
- Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
Responsibilities
Prepare golf courses via assigned tasks, including but not limited to:
Raking bunkers
Cutting cups
Filling divots
Picking up trash
Operate equipment to mow roughs and greens
Aerify the course
Maintain the course via assigned tasks, including but not limited to:
Watering the greens
Edging cart paths
Working the flower beds
Pruning trees
Necessary Skills
- Ability & willingness to work outdoors in all seasons, potentially in disagreeable working conditions
- Ability to safely operate a backhoe
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
- Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug, physical, and audio screenings
