Job Summary

Job Summary

The groundskeeper performs a variety of tasks in all types of weather conditions, including trimming and mowing, weeding, landscaping, snow removal, trash rounds, and general grounds maintenance. The groundskeeper also addresses and repairs minor exterior issues that arise on hospital property.

  • Provides quality work using attention to detail
  • Inspects exterior of the property and grounds; reports deficiencies to Grounds Supervisor
  • Mows and trims lawns weekly during the proper season
  • Uses power hand tools such as line trimmers, blowers, drills, etc
  • Weeds flowerbeds as needed
  • Operates tractors, sidewalk snow machines, ice melt sprayers, mowers, and RTV's as needed
  • Shovels exterior walkways during wintry weather; salts and mags sidewalks as needed
  • Contributes to the team; facilitates good interactions with patients and caregivers; exhibits professionalism with whom there is contact

Qualifications

  • Valid Non-CDL Class C Driver's License
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in the Grounds/Lawn Care Management industry highly preferred
  • Good communications skills
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs on occasion
  • Ability to work outdoors, year-round
