Job Description
The Group Sales Manager is directly responsible for all staff, guest and interdepartmental interactions in the Bus/Group Sales department for Seneca Casinos; Group Sales Representatives & Group Operation Specialists will report directly to this position. Responsible for the promotion and development of Bus/ Group travel opportunities in local, regional, tourism and travel markets. Responsible for implementation, maintenance, and expansion of an overall marketing plan to increase business by way of tourism, motor coach arrivals, group overnight trips and external partnerships focusing on achieving high levels of customer satisfaction, profitability, card utilization and group customer loyalty. Develops and maintains a network of contacts to generate future group travel market opportunities. The Manager will represent the company at on-site group sales events, casino/marketing/sales promotions, FAM tours and travel to various tradeshows and events. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation's policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Director of Group Sales, the Group Sales Manager will be responsible for the daily operational aspects of group sales, focusing on promoting group sales programs to increase visitation and overall profitability.
Oversee development, execution, sales and promotion of all group sales programs and focusing on profitability, card utilization and group customer loyalty.
Promote travel to the casino through planning, developing, and implementing incentive packages marketed through motor coach companies, line-run operators, tour operators, group leaders, travel agents, special interest groups, hotel, and retail partnerships.
Overall maintenance and customer relations with line-run operators and the line-run incentive program.
Overall maintenance and customer relations with group leaders, tour companies relating to the overnight group sales program.
The Group Sales Manager assures effective management of the Group Sales team and the training and development of a professional staff so that optimal levels of customer service are delivered to guests.
Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of guest arrivals, order processing, guest inquiries and the performance of the operations group's administrative responsibilities.
Responsible for hiring, training, counseling, commendation and performance evaluations of Bus Group Sales associates.
Establish department performance goals, monitoring and reporting on results for all program and staff.
Daily/weekly/monthly financial tracking and analysis of Group Sales program results.
Required to make on-site visits to bussing companies both in US and Canada to increase visits to Seneca Casinos and to maintain excellent customer relationships.
Travel required to serve as a company representative at local, regional and national trade shows and promotional events as well as appropriate tourism related organizations.
Oversee advertising efforts within the scope of the group sales marketing programs.
Oversees direct marketing efforts as pertains to Marketing programs.
Oversee & approve all insurance policies on behalf of Seneca Gaming Corporation properties.
Interact with finance department to ensure proper payment of authorized transactions in accordance with purchase orders, invoices and requests for disbursements.
Ensure adequate internal controls over disbursements are in place to meet company requirements.
Develop annual marketing plans, prepare budgets, and review tracking analysis of various market and customer segments.
Work closely with other casino departments to coordinate group activities.
Responsible for awareness of area promotions and promotional activities.
Resolve guest complaints and/or conflicts.
Educate and train all Staff in customer service as well as policies and procedures for handling guests.
Participate in and promote the development of an extensive Customer Service Training program as needed/required.
Generating information and completing reports as needed/required for Marketing.
Responsible for Department Standard Operating Procedures and accountability as it relates to composition, implementing and monitoring.
Must adhere to strict confidentiality in all matters.
Comply with company performance standards and departmental policy and practices.
Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.
Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.
Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.
Attend all necessary meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).
Ability to read and interpret documents such as training or procedure manuals, regulatory submissions and employee handbooks.
Strong work ethic and desire to succeed.
Excellent leadership skills demonstrated by a successful record of motivating, directing and developing team members and leading results-driven programs.
Excellent time management and organization skills, including the ability to continuously prioritize assignments.
Excellent completion record of assignments and projects with a successful history of ending projects/assignments on or ahead of schedule.
Must possess computer proficiency and keyboarding skills including familiarity with the computer programs of Word and Excel.
Working knowledge of Casino Management Systems like ACSC, MRS, LMS, Sales Force Amadeus is an asset.
Must have strong commitment to company values and the ability to work in a team and sales driven environment.
Maintain a consistent, regular attendance record.
Must possess effective communication and interpersonal skills required to interact with customers and other team members at all levels of the organization.
Education/Experience:
Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
High school diploma or its equivalency required.
Associates degree in hospitality required or equivalent experience.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in tourism/hospitality, direct sales or marketing.
Two (2) to three (3) years of Management / Leadership Proficiency required.
Previous customer service experience required.

Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
Salary Starting Rate:
$61,336.77
Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.
Each position has varying minimum qualifications. In the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived.
