Job Description
Inside the Role
We are seeking an engineering lead to shape the future Driver Experience domain for Daimler Truck and its brands. You will lead the global ECU development of one of our new Daimler Truck HMI ECUs (Instrument Cluster). In collaboration with our global team, you will drive robust, scalable, and future-proof solutions for all Daimler Truck brands. You will steer and organize all engineering activities and will be working on all phases of the product from the first iteration to SOP readiness. The Driver Experience team focuses on digital on-truck solutions and works hand in hand with design, engineering, and product strategy teams globally.Posting Information

What You Drive at DTNA
Organize and oversee all development activities of one of our new Daimler Truck HMI ECUs (Instrument Cluster) across all relevant vehicle projects globally
Ensure the success of the project
Act as the engineering project lead, ensuring alignment between global, internal and external partners and stakeholders (e.g. suppliers, vehicle project, development team)
Define and maintain project timelines and technical milestones
Lead technical reviews, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with automotive standards
Support the development and documentation of feature and technical concepts
Oversee change management
Create documentation, reports, presentations
Knowledge You Should Bring
Bachelor’s degree with a focus in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field with 5-7 years of relevant experience
Proven ability to manage complex projects, including scheduling, risk management, quality standards
Extensive experience of Daimler Truck development processes and standards from early project planning to production readiness
Experience in automotive software development (instrument clusters, infotainment, or similar domains)
Experience with automotive development processes, agile methodologies, and tools, preferably with Daimler Truck
Expertise in software development
Ability to translate high-level requirements into a tangible plan
Strong leadership and communication skills to guide cross-functional teams globally
Skilled in stakeholder communication, conflict resolution, and cross-functional coordination
Strong analytical and logical thinking, with excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Detail oriented, reliable, pro-active and self-motivated
Ability to work effectively in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change
Positive and collaborative attitude
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
Proven track record of leading large-scale automotive software programs
PMP or similar project management certification
Familiarity with UX principles and advanced graphics rendering for automotive displays
Strong leadership skills with experience in mentoring engineers and managing stakeholder expectations
Ability to influence executive-level decisions and manage global supplier relationships
German language skills
Experience with systems engineering
