Job Description

Advanced Clinical Pharmacist – Lake City, FL

  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Schedule: 7-On / 7-Off Nights | 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM | Rotating Weekends
  • Hourly Range:$57.74 – $73.04/hour (based on experience)
  • Differentials: Nights +$7.50/hr | Weekends +$3/hr
  • Sign-On Bonus: $20,000
  • Relocation Assistance: Case-by-case

Overview

A regional acute-care hospital in the Lake City area is seeking an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist to support critical care and inpatient services during dedicated overnight shifts. This position plays a key role in clinical decision support, sterile product preparation, medication safety, and oversight of pharmacy distribution activities. The role is ideal for pharmacists committed to high-acuity care, strong clinical practice, and independent night-shift operations.

Responsibilities

  • Review and verify medication orders for accuracy, safety, and appropriateness.

  • Adjust dosing based on patient-specific factors in accordance with clinical protocols.

  • Prepare and supervise sterile IV admixture processes aligned with USP standards.

  • Provide clinical consultation and drug information support to physicians and care teams.

  • Oversee controlled substance management, including reconciliation, documentation, and compliance.

  • Analyze medication-use data, develop monographs, and contribute to clinical pharmacy initiatives.

  • Support medication distribution workflow, storage processes, and Pyxis/automation oversight.

  • Maintain a patient-centered approach through collaborative communication and service excellence.

Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy

  • BS Pharmacy or PharmD

  • Active Florida Pharmacist license (or eligibility to obtain)

  • Strong critical-thinking abilities with the capacity to work independently during night shifts

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Preferred

  • Completion of a pharmacy residency (PGY1 or PGY2)

  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience

  • Board certification (BCPS, BCCCP, etc.)
