Job Title: Human Resources Generalist
Shift: 12PM-9PM
Location: Onsite - Chattanooga, TN
Reports to: Onsite Human Resources Manager
Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist will provide tactical HR support in a high-volume warehousing environment, ensuring seamless HR service delivery across assigned shifts. This role will be a key partner to associates and supervisors, focusing on employee relations, recruiting support, compliance, onboarding, and culture initiatives. The HR Generalist serves as both a resource and problem-solver, balancing day-to-day HR execution with initiatives that foster engagement, retention, and workforce readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Act as a first point of contact for employees and supervisors regarding HR policies, processes, and employee relations matters.
- Assist in workplace investigations, corrective action processes, and conflict resolution under the guidance of the HR Manager.
- Support recognition and engagement programs to improve morale and retention across shifts.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Partner with the Recruiter to coordinate candidate interviews, pre-employment checks, and new hire processing.
- Lead onboarding and orientation sessions to ensure a positive start and strong retention for new associates.
- Monitor staffing levels and communicate gaps or challenges to HR Manager and operations leadership.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws including EEOC, FMLA, ADA, and OSHA.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in alignment with company standards and HRIS requirements.
- Partner with site leaders and EHS to promote a safe work environment and manage workers' comp reporting.
HR Operations & Administration
- Provide support with HRIS transactions, timekeeping, and benefits administration.
- Assist with the tracking and reporting of HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, and headcount.
- Partner with the HR Manager to execute HR programs consistently across shifts.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and employee experience.
- Participate in HR-led initiatives that align with enterprise-wide HR strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 2+ years of HR experience in warehousing, logistics, distribution, or manufacturing preferred.
- Knowledge of employment law, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust at all levels.
- Experience with HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work onsite in a fast-paced, multi-shift environment.
