💼 What You’ll Do

As a Truck-Based Journeymen HVAC Mechanic, you’ll be the trusted expert delivering top-tier service to our commercial clients. You’ll work independently or alongside Journeymen on a variety of systems, including:

  • Light and heavy commercial HVACR systems

  • Centrifugal chillers, steam turbines, absorption machines

  • Open-drive screw chillers and ammonia systems

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Performing maintenance, repairs, and replacements on commercial heating and cooling systems

  • Diagnosing facility inefficiencies and providing expert solutions

  • Delivering quotes and upselling services to enhance system performance

  • Partnering with customers to ensure optimal facility operations

We’re looking for mechanics with hands-on experience in:

  • HVAC piping, plumbing, pipefitting, or mechanical equipment service

  • Commercial HVACR systems (light or heavy commercial)

  • Strong problem-solving and customer service skills

  • Ability to pass a skills assessment (if required)

💼 What You’ll Do

As a Union HVAC Mechanic, you’ll be a key player in delivering high-performance service and solutions to our commercial and industrial clients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing HVAC systems in commercial, petrochemical, and data center environments

  • Working on rooftop units, chillers, boilers, compressors, pumps, fans, towers, and plumbing systems

  • Performing shaft alignment using dial indicators and laser tools

  • Using vibration analysis equipment to diagnose driveline issues

  • Installing complete HVAC systems including chillers, rooftop units, and supporting mechanical infrastructure

  • Repairing centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers, and ammonia/hydrocarbon systems

  • Providing quotes and recommendations to customers and participating in our Service Plus Rewards program

  • Communicating clearly with customers about problems, causes, and corrective actions

  • Supporting and mentoring apprentices and servicemen on the job

  • Traveling 10–20% to support customer needs across the region

✅ What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Membership (or willingness to join) the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the U.S. and Canada, AFL-CIO

  • Minimum 8 years of commercial/industrial HVAC troubleshooting experience

  • Certification in ammonia and hydrocarbon safety training

  • Universal EPA refrigerants license and applicable state/local licenses

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Strong interpersonal, digital, and written communication skills

  • A self-starter mindset with a passion for learning and growth

  • Commitment to safety in every aspect of the job

  • Willingness to complete a knowledge exam and participate in ongoing training programs
