Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Electrician to serve as the on-site electrical expert within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems on production equipment while providing guidance and training to other maintenance staff. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, hands-on problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform prompt repair, replacement, and preventative maintenance on electrical wiring, circuits, and components for production equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and mechanical system failures using test equipment and hand tools
- Install, maintain, and overhaul electrical controls, wiring, lighting systems, and electronic equipment
- Support installation and startup of new or modified equipment, ensuring proper electrical functionality
- Research and evaluate new tools, technologies, and methods for diagnosing and preventing electrical issues
- Inspect electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, or code compliance concerns
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, and fixtures
- Maintain accurate electrical schematics, diagrams, and documentation (digital and hard-copy)
- Serve as a technical resource by providing guidance and training to junior maintenance staff
- Follow all safety policies and maintain a safe, organized work environment
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems with minimal supervision
- Strong working knowledge of high-voltage systems up to 480V (3-phase) and 500V DC
- Experience with AC/DC drives, PLCs, and automated manufacturing equipment
- Solid understanding of electrical theory, including Ohm's Law
- Experience operating test equipment such as digital multimeters and amp meters
- Basic mechanical skills, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Basic computer skills within a Microsoft Windows environment for internet-based work order systems
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and electrical systems
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods
- Ability to safely lift and carry tools and equipment as required
