About The Opportunity

Plans and oversees layout of equipment, office, and production facilities. Conducts studies in operations to maximize work flow and spatial utilization. Ensures facility efficiency and workplace safety.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Executes strategic objectives of engineering function to ensure operational reliability consistent with the needs of the broader organization and to ensure the maximum availability and longevity of assets

  • Supports and/or conducts equipment feasibility studies for recommendations for investment; contributes to development of capital expenditure plan

  • Designs and manages capital projects to enhance efficiencies, improve performance, and meet growth plans, including defining the scope of work, budget, schedule and responsibilities

  • Collaborates with cross-functional leaders to implement capital investment projects to drive operational excellence

  • Supports key stakeholders on project design and management, supplier selection, new equipment acquisition and installation, materials acquisition, and process changes

  • Assures all tasks are performed in a safe manner, and comply with all company, local, state, and federal requirements

  • Maintains industry, professional and technical knowledge by networking, attending industry events, and reviewing professional publications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge and understanding of industry developments, trends and experiences related to manufacturing of products or product components

  • Knowledge of methodologies, tools and techniques for designing, building and managing the manufacture of new products

  • Knowledge of the methodology and associated phases, activities and deliverables for the design of new products and the enhancement of existing products; ability to apply the methodology in diverse scenarios

  • Knowledge of the methodology and associated phases, activities and deliverables for manufacturing new or enhancing existing products

  • Knowledge and associated ability to apply technical, scientific and mathematical knowledge to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention

  • Knowledge of technologies and applications used in manufacturing products and in the optimization of manufacturing processes

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Primarily works in an office environment with frequent time spent in a production and/or warehouse setting

  • Frequent travel required

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
