Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, justify, and implement manufacturing and business process improvements to increase capacity and reduce waste, while improving quality and on-time delivery to our customers
- Lead the efforts to build the offline sub-assembly cells for the cooktop appliance assembly lines
- Maintain PFEP (Plan for Every Part) spreadsheets to support material planning and delivery
- Design and implement call systems (Kanban) to ensure timely and efficient material replenishment.
- Lead the design and setup of kitting and supermarket systems to streamline material handling
- Conduct WIP (Work-In-Process) reduction studies to improve flow and reduce inventory
- Support layout planning and material conveyance strategies for new production lines
- Provide input to project plans, schedules, and capital budgets related to material flow systems
- Participate in "Design For Manufacturing" activities to error-proof and simplify manufacturing processes
- Develop capacity models for various types of equipment and processes
- Establish standard work and labor routings
- Actions must demonstrate commitment and belief of "continuous improvement" for personal and team development, as well as manufacturing process improvements
- Understand plant performance and KPI tracking, set actions based on data that contribute to the efforts to meet or exceed KPIs, including Safety, Quality, Throughput, Labor Efficiency, First Pass Yield, and Cost Reduction.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
- Attention to detail
- Self-starter with the ability to establish, prioritize, and organize responsibilities
- Courteous, professional, and positive
- Bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering, or related field, or equivalent manufacturing experience
- 5+ years of industrial/process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
- Experience in leading kaizen teams and changing a traditional manufacturing culture to a lean culture
- Ease MTM software experience
