Join our Records and Information Governance Team as an Information Governance Operations Manager in our Dallas, Austin or Houston Office.

This role will be based in our Dallas, Austin or Houston office on an in-office basis. Some travel is required. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Information Governance Operations.
Position Summary
The Information Governance Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects of information management and processes, including electronic and physical file maintenance across multiple offices. The Information Governance Operations Manager serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external queries about Information Governance processes and procedures. This position requires the individual to be a subject matter expert and to implement the department’s strategic vision in the local offices. This position also assists and oversees the Information Governance operations team with their daily work activities.
Key Responsibilities
Demonstrates solid knowledge of Information Governance policies and procedures, data privacy issues (HIPAA), and electronic data management
Oversees and assists team with all core services including:
Onsite and offsite file management, such as label review and provision, file location tracking, onsite and offsite collection audits
Processing matter mobility requests, including transfers to departing lawyers and clients, and onboarding information for incoming lawyers and clients
Ensuring compliance with Legal Holds and Ethical Walls, including auditing access, ensuring secure storage, and communicating regularly to staff and lawyers about procedures around holds and walls
Records Team Management including:
Creates and tracks work assignments, providing direction as necessary
Conducts performance management, coaching and staff development and training
Manages and champions regional offices’ electronic transformations, focusing on maintaining born-digital material in an electronic format and reducing reliance on paper copies
Provides frequent secretarial and staff training
Conducts welcome and orientation meetings with new lawyers and staff
Participates in project committees to develop processes to operationalize firm strategies
Provides subject matter expertise for program development and advancement
Demonstrates professional advancement through active participation in professional organizations and activities
Clearly articulates and champions the firm’s strategic Information Governance vision
Establishes compliance criteria in support of Senior Information Governance Managers for all core services
Qualifications
Skills & Competencies
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), a professional demeanor and presentation, including active listening and ability to convey information clearly
Must understand both the business and practice of law, and understand the needs of the legal and administrative teams in the office
Strategic leader who is an innovative thinker with a natural ability to influence and motivate others, and who will lead by example
High attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to manage time effectively
Analytical with strong problem-solving skills, takes initiative and uses good judgment, excellent follow-up skills

Recognize confidential, sensitive, and proprietary information and maintain confidentiality
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization and collaborate well in a team
Education & Prior Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is preferred
Information Governance certification, such as IGP or CRM, is preferred
7+ years of records management or related experience
1 to 3 years of management or supervisory experience required, preferably in a law firm or other professional services firm
Technology
Strong technical skills required, experience with records management databases such as iManage Records or FileTrail preferred
