JOB SUMMARY

The Information Technology Director is responsible for directing and managing all functions of the Information Technology department for the Calista Corporate Office, Bektuq, Ena, and other Holding Lines as required. This position analyzes needs of the Holding Lines, manages projects and determines ways to meet business objectives by modifying existing or developing new information processing systems. This role is also responsible for fostering cultural and technical synergies across Calista Corporation and all holding lines to ensure IT strategies and initiatives promote collaboration, shared innovation, and consistent enterprise standards.

In alignment with Calista's 5-Year Technology Roadmap, this role will directly support enterprise-wide cloud migration, cybersecurity compliance, enterprise application integration, data and analytics implementation, and the operation of the Software Factory/Innovation Lab to accelerate modernization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate closely with the CIO to align IT operations, projects, and resources with strategic milestones for application optimization, cloud migration, and village engagement technology initiatives.
  • Direct daily operations of department, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards and setting deadlines.
  • Lead the execution of IT components of the Calista 5-Year Technology Roadmap, including support for CMMC L2 compliance, enterprise application integration, data and analytics initiatives, and network modernization efforts.
  • Plan and delegate new systems to include upgrades and configuration management with coordination and approval of the Holding Line Presidents.
  • Dictate tasks to team members for maintenance, upgrades, and day to day network monitoring of the Calista LAN/WAN and critical services.
  • Oversee deployment and operational use of the Software Factory/Innovation Lab, ensuring freed-up on-premises infrastructure is leveraged for internal tool development, rapid prototyping, and innovation pilots.
  • Create and manage hardware and software vendor relationships.
  • Assist the Holding Line Presidents and the Calista CIO in determining and managing the IT budget.
  • Manage IT staff to include hiring, training, guidance, and discipline.
  • Responsible for maintaining email, web, and critical services for Calista and appropriate Holding lines to conform to their business need and work hours.
  • Document, review and update the Calista Enterprise Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Communicate regularity with CIO and Holding Line Presidents on information technology, ongoing projects and issues.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS:

This position supervises Business Applications Manager, IT Services Manager, and Infrastructure Division Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within field.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
  • Strong knowledge of IT technical infrastructure such as web development, networks, database principles, and other related concepts.
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (Azure GovCloud), cybersecurity frameworks (CMMC L2, NIST 800-171), and enterprise application integration best practices.
  • Ability to oversee and coordinate data platform implementation and analytics projects in support of strategic business intelligence goals.
  • Experience leading innovation initiatives, software development teams, and technology prototyping efforts in an enterprise environment.
  • Foster cultural and technical synergies across Calista Corporation and all holding lines ensuring IT initiatives support collaboration, shared best practices, and unified technology standards.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple holding lines to align technology strategies, create cultural and operational cohesion, and drive enterprise-wide adoption of innovative solutions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and confidentially process and maintain data with accuracy.
  • Strong computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.
  • Effective oral and technical written communication skills to effectively communicate information to others as well as to present information in front of a group.
  • Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, etc.
  • Strong customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up. Ability to convey information clearly, effectively, and professionally.
  • Active listening skills: attentiveness when listening to others to understand, ask appropriate questions, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations, detect unobvious facts and issues, and exercise resourcefulness in resolving problems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors' degree in Information System Management, Computer Science or related field and minimum 10 years' experience as Network Administrator, IT Support, or similar capacity; or,
  • Minimum 15 years' experience as Network Administrator, IT Support, or similar capacity in lieu of Bachelors' degree.
  • Supervisory Experience preferred.
  • Valid state driver's license and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of Calista's Driving Policy.
  • Ability to pass a background, drug, driving and reference screening.

Calista Corporation IT department is a fast paced, multi-tasking, customer service-oriented office environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. Adaptability regarding schedule and task changes is necessary to accommodate changing priorities. Overtime will be necessary at times.
