About the role

As an Information Technology Services (ITS) intern at COUNTRY Financial, you will work as a software developer, data developer, engineer or security analyst in our corporate office located in Bloomington, IL.Interns will work with a project team, intern mentor and information technology management to gain valuable experience, and develop leadership, technical, analytical, communication and teamwork skills through challenging work assignments.To be eligible for an internship at COUNTRY Financial, you must be pursuing a degree for the duration of the internship and you must be able to work full-time hours from late May to early August 2026. The internship may be extended part-time into the fall semester; depending on the availability of the student, the needs of the company, and strong work performance.

Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Engineers could be placed in Security, Networking, Telecommunications, Storage, Endpoints, and support roles. Engineers are responsible for ensuring the planning, selection, build, and maintenance of effective technology solutions that meet defined and emerging business capability needs in a cost effective way.

  • Engineers partner with IT Security Analysts and Enterprise Architects to establish, understand, and adhere to technical and IT security standards. 

  • Engineers are involved in all aspects of the technology lifecycle to ensure that nonfunctional and functional requirements are adhered to in design and build so solutions are stable, secure, resilient, and perform well. 

  • Engineers ensure that systems are maintained and supported to run effectively in production.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Networking, Computer/Software Engineering, or other technology related major

  • Graduation date of August 2026 or beyond

  • Technical Expertise

  • Security Knowledge

  • Experience/Exposure to CI/CD Pipeline tools (Gitlab, GitHub)

  • Knowledge of any of the following:

  • BASH

  • Perl

  • PowerShell

  • Azure

  • Gitlab

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Must be a motivated team player

Security Analyst

Responsibilities

  • Security Analysts monitor the organization’s security systems to detect and respond to potential threats.

  • Security Analysts assist in performing vulnerability testing and risk analyses to identify weaknesses in systems.

  • Security Analysts support incident response and help analyze the incident to determine cause and impact.

  • Security Analysts assist with security audits to ensure compliance with policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a degree in Computer Science.

  • Graduation date of August 2026 or beyond

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server

  • Knowledge of Linux/UNIX Operating Systems

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical and business audiences

Software Developer

Responsibilities

  • Software Developers are responsible for building effective technology solutions that meet the defined business capabilities.

  • Software Developers partner with Engineering, IT Security and Enterprise Architecture to understand and adhere to established technical and IT security standards.

  • Software Developers are involved throughout the systems development life cycle to ensure the development of effective solutions that meet both functional and nonfunctional requirements so they are stable, secure, resilient, and perform well.

  • Software Developers support implementation activities in line with release and change management processes.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a degree in Computer Science.

  • Graduation date of August 2026 or beyond

  • Proficient in Java 

  • Knowledge of Spring, Selenium, and DevOps

  • Proficient with 365 Microsoft Office computer environments

  • Able to troubleshoot and research issues independently

  • Agile methodology

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Must be a motivated team player

  • Excellent communication skills

Automation Developer

Responsibilities

  • Automation Developers develop and maintain test automation frameworks using Robot Framework to validate billing and payment systems.

  • Automation Developers create and execute automated test cases covering backend APIs, UI, and integrations.

  • Automation Developers develop and maintain automated test scripts to support continuous integration and delivery.

  • Automation Developers develop and enhance test data management tools.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology

  • Graduation date of August 2026 or beyond

  • Knowledge of Python/PySpark, SQL/HQL, AI, Test automation, CI/CD pipelines, Java

Data Developer

Responsibilities

  • Data Developers are responsible for delivering and maintaining enterprise data solutions as part of the data pipeline, data platform, and data governance teams.

  • Data Developers perform analysis, development, and testing of data ingestion, data curation, and data governance solutions.

  • Data Developers perform API development and integration, and assess infrastructure changes including cloud environments, firewalls, disaster recovery, and security policies.

  • Data Developers analyze complex datasets and create clear, insightful reports and dashboards to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.

  • Data Developers implement advanced logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to support incident response and issue resolution.

  • Data Developers perform root cause analysis using diagnostic tools and replicate issues in isolated environments to ensure effective troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Information Technology

  • Expected graduation date of August 2026 or later

  • Familiarity with technologies and concepts such as Python, PySpark, SQL/HQL, data science, AI, test automation, CI/CD pipelines, cloud technologies, data visualization, data management and the SAFe Agile methodology

  • Excellent documentation and presentation skills
