Job Description

Responsible for leading the Infrastructure - Network Communications (Netcom) team. Ensures projects and day to day operations are aligned with organizational needs. Ensures staffing levels to effectively support a 24/7 operation.

Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a technical position in a microcomputer environment

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in a technical position supporting multi-protocol network environments

  • Minimum of four year's experience in physical and logical network design, including network management and detailed packet analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 6 months experience in healthcare data processing

  • Technical/IS certification in a relevant area of expertise, e.g. Cisco or equivalent

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Responsibilities

  • Chief designer of the Children's infrastructure. This includes the configuration of Routers, Switches, Voice over IP, and Wide Area connectivity.

  • Technical training of all Support Personnel to ensure quality of network service.

  • Provide third level support to technical support team.

  • Perform technical analysis of network hardware and transmission facilities using various diagnostic tools to enable growth capacity planning.

  • Researches and makes recommendations for new network hardware based on current and projected goals.

  • Researches and makes recommendations for new network management systems.

  • Verifies the network is run in accordance with guidelines set by upper management.

  • Oversees the implementation of network hardware to insure the best interests of the organization.

  • Functions as a Technical Support project liaison, ensuring effective transition from project pre-implementation to go-live to day-to-day support.

  • Reviews support processes, policies, and procedures to ensure proper communication, documentation, and training for Technical Support.

  • Participates in after-hours support as part of the on-call rotation.

  • Assist Supervisor and/or Manager with development of staff by being available to teammates, acting as a resource to help complete complicated/complex tasks, providing on the job training to team, and seeking out opportunities to become actively involved in staff workflow and development.

  • Provide Supervisor and/or Manager feedback on staff performance, educational needs, and workflow status.
