Provides direct patient care in Occupational Therapy and performs other related duties to assure smooth, coordinated running of the department within the pediatric Inpatient, Outpatient, and Clinics. Identifies, diagnoses, and treats patients with a wide variety of disabilities. Participates in program planning, development and implementation. Participates in Quality Improvement. Counsels and instructs patients/families and medical professionals involved with the patient's rehabilitative needs, monitors patient progress, ensures that recommendations are followed. Maintains clinical records according to established procedures.
Requirements
Current Occupational Therapy license with the State of Wisconsin. Current NBCOT license.
Master's degree in Occupational therapy preferred, Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required.
Current CPR certification- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
Prefer a minimum of 1 year clinical experience in the pediatric field of Occupational Therapy. Will accept new graduates.
Must be able to walk, stand for long periods, over 80% of the assigned work period and lift and position patients weighing up to 75 pounds.
Must be able to push and pull splinting cart where appropriate.
We are seeking someone who can work in a casual capacity with a minimum requirement to work two weekend days per month. There is opportunity to pick up more hours, but it is not a requirement.
This position is located at our Milwaukee Main Campus.
This is not a benefits eligible position.
