Job Title: Inside Sales, Warehouse & Fire Extinguisher Technician (Trainee)Location: Americus, GASchedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PMCompany: Jones Welding and Industrial Supplies, Inc.
Position Summary: Jones Welding & Industrial Supplies, Inc. is looking for a dependable, hard-working team member to join our Americus location in a unique hybrid role. This position blends customer service, inside counter sales, warehouse operations, and fire extinguisher shop support.
Whether you're helping a walk-in customer, loading a delivery, or learning how to service fire extinguishers in compliance with NFPA 10, no two days are the same. If you like hands-on work, enjoy helping customers, and are ready to learn a skilled trade, this might be the perfect opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Inside Sales:
- Assist walk-in customers with welding supplies, PPE, and fire extinguisher needs
- Answer phones and provide friendly, accurate service
- Process sales at the counter using our point-of-sale system
- Build strong relationships through attentive, knowledgeable service
Warehouse Duties:
- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming shipments
- Operate a forklift to move products safely
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse environment
- Load and unload deliveries as needed
- Assist with inventory audits and stock rotation
Fire Extinguisher Training & Duties:
- Learn how to perform fire extinguisher recharges, hydrostatic tests, and maintenance
- Participate in hands-on training to earn your state certification for portable extinguishers within 90 days
- Assist in delivering and servicing extinguishers for customers
- Keep the extinguisher service area clean and organized
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Forklift experience preferred (or willingness to train)
- Basic computer skills for order processing and inventory
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check
- Welding product knowledge or industry experience is a plus, but not required
- Willingness to obtain state certification for portable fire extinguisher servicing within 90 days (we provide training!)
