ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE IN NURSING FULL TIME NURSING INSTRUCTOR
DEPARTMENT: School of Nursing
POSITION TITLE: ASSOCIATE OF SCTENCE IN NURSING FULL TIME NURSING INSTRUCTOR
SUPERVISOR: Director, School of Nursing
PURPOSE: Full time nursing faculty assume responsibility for the delivery of classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction as well as advising, scholarship and service requirements within ASN programs. This is a 9-month non-tenure track academic position.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Teaching in ASN Program (Primary)
- Incorporate student learning teaching/learning strategies in classroom and lab/clinical instruction.
- Participate in Department of Nursing and University Committees.
- Ensure student compliance with health requirements.
- Participate in student counseling and advising.
- Schedule office hours in compliance with University Policy.
- Evaluate student performance in classroom and clinical courses.
- Develop course schedules and syllabi in compliance with department and University policies.
- Exhibits a strong commitment to nursing student success and to LSUA
- Demonstrates excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to work independently.
- Follows faculty policies and guidelines in compliance with University and School of Nursing Policy
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in nursing
- Two years clinical experience as register nurse
- Active Louisiana RN license or Multi-State License
- CPR certified with documented health compliance as required of nursing faculty
