ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

As an intern,youwillwork onhigh-level projects affecting the Transmission, Substation and Collection systems – ranging from 34.5kV to 345kVAkey focusof the role isassistingintroubleshooting high voltage electrical faultsandhelpingdevelopprograms and maintenance practices to prevent unnecessary site downtime.As an intern on thisteam,youwill helpsupportthe operations of Invenergy’s existing wind, solar, and storage assets.Additionalresponsibilities(with the support and oversight of senior engineers)include:

  • Assistengineerswith electrical troubleshooting, including review of digital fault records, relays, and other operational data for planned and unplanned electrical events.

  • Collaborating withsite personnel, contractors, equipment manufacturers & consulting engineersforelectrical issues at wind, solar, and battery storage facilities

  • Assistoperating facilities with electrical procedure development.

  • Assistin reviewing andorganizing as-built site documentation including electrical drawings, schematics, bill of materials, electrical studies, testreports,and relay settings.

  • Assistthe engineers with troubleshootingelectrical issues affecting generation technology, including wind turbines, solarpanels,and battery systems.  

  • Contribute to projects aimed at enhancing safety and improving operational efficiency

  • Collaboratewith Senior Engineers in performingroot cause analyses toidentifypotential futurerisks anddrive fleet-wide corrective action plans. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Currentlyenrolled in a 4-year Bachelor’s degree program with an expected graduation date between Fall 2026 and Summer 2027.

  • Majoring in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering

  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

  • Demonstrated interest in the renewable energy or clean energy sector.

Base Pay

$22.00 - $25.00 Hourly

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Your recruiter can share more about the base pay for this internship opportunity during the hiring process. 

Interns may be eligible to contribute to a 401k.
