Job Description

Gain industry leading Risk Management experience as a TopBuild Risk Management Intern.  Our interns collaborate with experienced professionals in areas such as international corporate insurance programs, claims management, loss prevention, contract review, captive management, and data analytics. You’ll assist in analyzing exposures, evaluating insurance coverages, and supporting initiatives that contribute to the success of our business.

Daily Functions:

  • Contribute to the success of our 2026 business performance

  • Work as a member of a team and build positive working relationships with team members in functional business area

  • Perform ad hoc insurance claim and safety data analysis to identify risks to the business

  • Assist with processing certificates of insurance

  • Update Risk Management’s SharePoint page with 2026 insurance renewal data

  • Build your project management and execution skills by supporting our charity of the quarter initiative

  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities such as online courses, visiting construction sites, career development mentoring

  • Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership of new and different tasks

  • Explores opportunities to add value to the organization

Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate program in a four-year academic institution majoring in Risk Management & Insurance

  • Academic success (GPA of 3.2 or higher)

  • Permanent legal right to work in the U.S.

  • Effective Communication- Ability to convey information effectively through oral, written and financial reporting.                                        

  • Technology Skills – Strong skills in Microsoft Excel is required, and strong skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint is preferred.

  • Accounting and reporting- Demonstrates and applies an understanding of basic accounting principles. Understands the role of accounting and its impact on the financial operation/reporting. Adheres to appropriate policies, procedures and work instructions as appropriate to role.

  • Professionalism & Integrity – Demonstrates reliability, good judgment, and respect for confidentiality; behaves appropriately in a professional setting.

  • Positive Attitude & Resilience – Maintains optimism and professionalism.

Work is performed in a typical office environment and may require standing, bending, lifting boxes or packages under 10 lbs., and sitting for long periods of time.

Work requires regularly inputting/retrieving words or data into or from an automated/computer system.

Compensation Range:

$13.00 - $30.00

The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
