We are looking for looking for an SSAT Tutor: Math. Details of this stipend position can be found below.
Responsibilities:
Help students develop a positive mindset toward the test by building confidence
Monitor student progress through progress
Monitor assessments and adjust strategies as needed
Hold tutoring sessions for groups of 10-15 students for 1 hour a week (3:45 PM - 4:45 PM)
Tutoring Sessions to begin week of 4/6/2026 on either Wednesdays or Fridays, 3:45 PM - 4:45 PM, through May 22, 2026 (To be coordinated with the SSAT English Tutor).
No tutoring the week of May 4, 2026
Total of 10 sessions
Use the SSAT book to focus instruction lessons on the Math sessions of the SSAT - including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and problem-solving
Instruct students on time management, multiple choice strategies, understanding of question wording, and eliminating incorrect answer choices
Promote deeper mathematical thinking by encouraging students to explore multiple methods for solving problems and to explain their reasoning
Monitor student progress through progress-monitoring assessments and adjusting strategies as needed
Schedule: Monday, April 6, 2026 through Friday, May 22, 2026
Hours: 3:45 PM to 4:45 PM
Stipend Amount: $40.00 per hour
