Job Description

Job Summary

The Interventional Radiology Liaison works with providers to coordinate the scheduling of procedures and follow-up appointments post procedure, monitoring to mitigate scheduling conflicts and streamlining the patient care experience. This position will also assist with capturing requests for schedule modifications and passing on that information to appropriate resources and other administrative support tasks for Imaging services.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with providers to coordinate the scheduling of procedures and follow-up appointments post procedure, monitoring to mitigate scheduling conflicts and streamlining the patient care experience.
  • Perform office procedures such as referrals, X Ray scheduling, and or coordinate other scheduling activities with patients as needed.
  • Complete Clerical and Administrative tasks in support the department leadership team and coordinate requests for support with the department leadership team.
  • As conflicts in scheduling across departments occurs, identify issues and propose solutions to ensure team collaboration and mitigate conflict.
  • Manage special projects or pilot programs as designated.
  • Answer incoming calls from patients, medical offices, health care facilities, and other referral sources. Answer questions and route to the appropriate department or person.
  • Oversee the tracking and documentation of imaging received and sent and may request images to be sent. Keep the healthcare team informed as required of images and their status.
  • Perform duties as an active member of the healthcare team including but not limited to patient transportation and patient/department relations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Associate degree

Experience Requirements

  • Associate degree would require six (6) months in a health-leadership related field
  • Bachelor's degree preparation would not require previous work experience

License/Certification Requirements

  • None required
