Job Title: Inventory Control Analyst
Department: Supply Chain
Location: Richland, WA
Position Overview:
The Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and availability of inventory data for our Carbon Robotics' facility in Richland, WA. This role monitors inventory transactions, investigates variances, develops reporting, and partners closely with manufacturing, purchasing, finance, and planning teams to maintain inventory accuracy, reduce shrinkage, and support efficient production planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Accuracy & Transactions
Monitor and reconcile daily inventory movements (receipts, transfers, consumption, returns).
Assist with daily transactions related to work orders, inventory adjustments, bin transfers, cycle counts, and reconciliation efforts
Ensure proper documentation and audit trail of adjustments in ERP.
Cycle Counting & Physical Inventory
Support physical inventory and cycle count program including scheduling, execution, and variance analysis.
Lead root-cause investigations for discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
Investigate and resolve cycle count and physical inventory discrepancies.
Data & Systems Management
Help to maintain item master data integrity within ERP/PLM (part numbers, units of measure, stocking policies, lead times).
Generate reports and dashboards on inventory performance metrics, including turns, days on hand, and fill rates.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Purchasing to track inbound receipts and reconcile supplier issues.
Work with Production Control and Warehouse teams to ensure BOM consumption and WIP reporting is accurate.
Provide Finance with data for month-end close, reconciliations, and audit support.
Coordinate with manufacturing and warehouse teams to track inventory accuracy, bin locations, and stock transfers.
Working with the planning team to identify excess, obsolete, and slow-moving items (E&O), and recommend disposition strategies.
Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and reduce manual work.
Support development of inventory control SOPs and training of warehouse staff.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy, reduce waste, and streamline stock handling processes.
Contribute to ongoing projects such as ERP/MRP optimization and warehouse layout improvements
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in inventory planning, materials management, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, warehouse operations, and supply chain principles.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., NetSuite preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills across cross-functional teams.
- This position requires occasional lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Candidates should be comfortable squatting and bending while performing these tasks.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) is a plus.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
Working Conditions:
- Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM.
- Office and production floor environment.
- May require occasional overtime or weekend work based on production needs.
