Job Description

SUMMARY

The Inventory Control Analyst will analyze inventory data to optimize stock levels, minimize costs, and ensure products are available to meet customer demand. Key responsibilities include forecasting needs, implementing control procedures, maintaining accurate databases, coordinating with other departments like sales and purchasing, resolving discrepancies, and reporting on inventory performance. This role requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Additionally, contribute to continuous improvement by analyzing inventory trends and supporting the development of streamlined inventory control processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Analyzes and maintains inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods and manages and oversees the handling of inventory-related issues.
  • Monitors order/delivery status, stock outages, inventory turns, forecast, and inventory stocking levels for plants and provides early warnings on late deliveries to take corrective action.
  • Outbound Demand Forecasting
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain inventory accuracy and data integrity.
  • Manage inventory transactions and system updates in real-time, ensuring timely and accurate entry of materials movement into ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Maintain and improve the warehouse management system to enable efficient identification and retrieval of inventory items.
  • Ensure compliance with established inventory control procedures and support internal audits to verify data accuracy and process adherence.
  • Maintain organized and complete documentation of inventory transactions and adjustments.
  • Lead or participate in problem solving.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2-5 years in a computerized manufacturing and warehouse or distribution center environment.
  • Experience with Lean Enterprise, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Kanban pull systems.
  • Ability to capture data from databases, analyze data for trends, discrepancies, forecasting and improvement opportunities. Able to use tools like advanced Microsoft (MS) Excel, MS Power BI, MS Teams, MS SharePoint, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Problem Solving and ideation experience using tools like PDCA, 8D, A3 or similar.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral) to collaborate with diverse teams and present findings. A good record of follow-up and resolution.
  • Experience in working with P&L, fiscal year budgeting, to determine cost savings, errors and collaborating with the plants and Order Entry teams to make corrections as necessary.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor degree in supply chain management, business administration, finance or related field with 2-5 years' experience preferred. Associate degree with 5-10 years' experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Be physically able to perform above functions which include a lot of walking. Also be able to be on your feet, to load trailers and the movement to and from the trailer and the staging area of our product. Must be physically able to mount and dismount our lifts numerous times throughout the day. This includes but is not limited to dismounting and remounting continuously to stack, mark, label and make ready to carry with the lift or hand trucks.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
