Job Description
The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing inventory operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with business goals. This role supervises inventory staff, manages inventory systems, resolves exceptions, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory processes.
This is an onsite role in our Irving, TX facility with a schedule of Monday - Friday, 11:30AM - 8:00PM.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Supervise and develop inventory control staff, providing training and performance feedback. Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
Maintain and adjust min/max inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing excess
Apply inventory slotting strategies to improve warehouse layout efficiency and picking accuracy.
Collaborate with warehouse, procurement, and production teams to streamline inventory flows
Monitor inventory transactions and ensure alignment between physical counts and system records. Investigate and reconcile discrepancies in inventory data, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
Supervise all stockroom activities for all shifts including material stocking for component and finished goods inventory, kitting and delivery of components required for production
Accomplish supervisory and human resource objectives such as hiring, performing performance reviews and mentoring / coaching and disciplinary actions
Responsible for the development and maintenance of an effective organization for area(s) of responsibility, including a) efficient workflow patterns; b) established performance standards; c) effective delineation of duties and responsibilities; d) suitable staffing levels; e) appropriate supervision; and f) systems for timely communication of pertinent information
Create and/or modify processes, in collaboration with manager, to allow for the processing and servicing of new accounts and products, as well as improving existing processes when practical and cost effective
Drive engagement across area of responsibility and work with the team to foster a strong culture. Work with Manager to review the peakon score and create action plans within the tool
Review Power BI Dashboard reports to ensure that the team/dept is attaining the desired performance metrics. Following up with the leaders on their areas of opportunity
Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment for personnel to work in while ensuring all safety and environmental regulations are followed. Support committees and programs for safety, fire prevention, disaster recovery and so forth.
Ensures the development of specific plans for inclusion in these programs
Serve as liaison with other organizational components; establishes and maintains the working rapport necessary to develop cooperation and effectively integrate area services into the company's overall business fulfillment system
Receive and investigates all complaints concerning his or her area(s) of responsibility and its personnel; determines veracity of such and (as necessary) takes corrective or disciplinary action and/or prepares reply
Remain abreast of developments in the field(s) by pursuing a program of self-development, participating in professional organizations, interacting with peers, reviewing pertinent literature, and so forth. Incorporates advancements when practicable and cost effective
Direct the preparation of records as well as recurring and special reports and analyses for area(s) of responsibility ensuring that they are complete, accurate and prepared on time. Reviews and interprets these to ascertain the extent to which goals are being attained. Initiates corrective action as necessary.
What are the requirements for this position?
Minimum of 3-years of experience in a leadership role within a fast-paced, high-volume, manufacturing/repair environment like Assurant, York, Lewisville or Tennessee facility
Strong knowledge and abilities with use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Experience with PowerBI
Prior experience in a warehouse, inventory, shipping, receiving or related environment required
Ability to identify potential process and workflow improvements
Demonstrated experience with direct supervision and coaching of others
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Able to successfully interface with all levels of Company personnel as well as external personnel
Strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with problem solving, brainstorming sessions, strategy development and conflict resolution
Driven, goal-oriented, never confuses effort with results
Ability to multitask in a fast paced, dynamic assembly and logistics environment
May be required to work across multiple shifts
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
- Associate's degree and 3+ years of experience in supervising 15+ hourly associates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
What are the working conditions and physical requirements of this job?
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods
Frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of materials up to 20 lbs.
May require climbing ladders or operating forklifts (certification preferred)
Occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, exposure to changes in temperature, being near moving machinery, and office machinery

Pay Range:
$54,900.00 - $92,000.00
Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
