Job Description

Morgan Stanley's Global Technology Group is looking for the most curious, creative and driven bankers to join our Technology M&A team in our Menlo Park office, in the heart of Silicon Valley.

Morgan Stanley helps clients realize differentiated outcomes on the largest, most complex and challenging M&A assignments. In the last year, our group has advised on industry-defining transactions including:

  • Wiz's $32Bn Sale to Google
  • $113Bn Combination of xAI and X
  • Intel's $9Bn Carve-out Sale of 51% of Altera to Silver Lake
  • Clearlake's $5.3Bn Acquisition of ModMed
  • Just Eat's $4.6Bn Sale to Prosus
  • AMD's $3bn Divestiture of ZT Systems Data Center Infra. Mfg. Business to Sanmina
  • Rocket's $1.75Bn Acquisition of Redfin

Our clients look to us to guide them through a range of the most critical situations they face, including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, recapitalizations, leveraged buyouts, unsolicited overtures and generally evaluating the company's strategic alternatives. In other words, we advise clients on some of the most important decisions they make.

In this context, often facing the highest of stakes, our Vice Presidents play a pivotal role on our teams, planning and overseeing day-to-day project execution while engaging extensively with our clients and colleagues to deliver the best outcomes.

We are looking for candidates that can break down complex situations, synthesize inputs from clients and colleagues, formulate strategies and workplans, mobilize teams, make adjustments on the fly, and ultimately to deliver successful outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications:

  • 3-6+ years of investment banking experience

  • Experience with a variety of M&A deals:

  • Company sales, acquisitions, strategic alternatives reviews

  • Involving both public and private companies

  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced, team-oriented environment, under tight deadlines

  • Series licensing required or must be obtained

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or CFA designation a bonus

  • Experience working with technology companies a bonus

Expected base pay rates for the role will be $275,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
