We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused IT Support Specialist to join our team in Chicago, IL. In this role, you will provide both remote and onsite technical support for software and hardware issues of low to medium complexity. You will troubleshoot and resolve problems, perform system installations, provide end-user training, and document solutions in accordance with established processes and procedures.
The ideal candidate has at least two years of help desk experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently while delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves occasional travel and participation in an on-call rotation.Responsibilities:
  • Provide software and hardware support via phone, email, instant message, remote tools, and onsite visits.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis and create documentation for recurring issues.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of troubleshooting steps, solutions, and system changes in the ticketing system.
  • Assist customers with PC setup, onboarding, and technology introductions.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior staff as needed.
  • Create network diagrams, installation flow charts, and procedural documentation for internal and customer use.
  • Recommend process improvements and preventative measures for recurring problems.
  • Maintain billable percentage in accordance with management guidelines.
  • Keep personal work schedule updated and accurate.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required; technical training preferred.
  • ITIL or HDI certification a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of help desk or IT support experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 50%.
Compensation: $30,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
