Job Description
Time Requirements:
- As scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings between mid-November and early February
Essential Duties:
- Attends referee clinic
- Learns the rules of basketball and Moab City Recreation league rules
- Arrives 10 minutes prior to scheduled game time, dressed and ready to start game
- Starts all games on time
- Comes prepared to referee:
- Wears running/athletic sneakers or cleats
- Wears black shorts or athletic pants
- Wears referee shirt (provided by Moab City)
- Establishes contact with coaches and players
- Is consistent, fair and firm in calls made
- Records all scores accurately and reports results to Sports & Recreation Manager at end of the day
- Uses referee call as teaching opportunity if appropriate
Reporting Relationships
- Supervision received:* The Referee works under the supervision of the Sports & Recreation Manager.
- Supervision Exercised: The Jr. Jazz Basketball Referee provides general supervision and support for the basketball participants.
