Job Description
Position Summary:
The Junior Accountant maintain and improve upon financial analysis procedures and schedules, ensure data integrity and that financial information is presented accurately and results are issued in a timely manner.
What you will do in this role:
- Actively participate in the financial month-end close and budgeting process
- Own Marketing and Distribution Centers accounting for and recording transactions and reporting back to business owners/channel heads
- Ownership and maintenance of general ledger and journal entries
- Extensive P&L and Balance Sheet variance analysis and reporting
- Perform product line and customer profitability analysis
- Reconcile general ledger and balance sheet on a monthly basis
- Maintain and improve upon existing dashboards
- Perform ad hoc analysis of accounting transactions, operational performance, and general ledger accounts
- Perform accrual accounting for vendor debits
- Assist with internal control initiatives, policies and procedures
- Assist with annual budget and year-end external statutory audits
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
CPA designation with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience OR at least 3 years of progressive accounting experience without CPA
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
Hands-on experience with general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and month-end close
Proficient in preparing and analyzing P&L statements and balance sheet reconciliations
Demonstrated ability to perform detailed financial analysis, including product line and customer profitability
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial dashboards and ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience supporting external audits and assessing internal controls is preferred
