Job Description:

The Knowledge Management Manager (Healthcare) (“KM Manager”) supports the development of the knowledge strategy and overall knowledge infrastructure for the Health & Life Sciences Practice Group (“Practice Group”). The KM Manager serves as a necessary function for the lawyers in the Practice Group to work more effectively. The KM Manager collaborates closely with the Director, the Senior KM Manager, the broader KM department, and Practice Group lawyers to coordinate the implementation of firm-wide knowledge management efforts, create best practices, curate content, and promote a culture of knowledge-sharing and practice innovation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Organization and Dissemination of Knowledge

  • Perform advanced legal research across multiple healthcare frameworks to enhance and expand existing knowledge content provided by lawyers
  • Collaborate with lawyers to organize and integrate existing knowledge content to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and information both within and outside of the Practice Group
  • Respond to Practice Group requests for KM resources and support
  • Support Senior KM Manager in maintaining and centralizing KM resources such as 50-state surveys, client-facing resources, regulator correspondence, and more
  • Track key legislation impacting Practice Group clients
  • Monitor key industry updates, legal decisions, and client alerts to provide timely communications and summaries to the Director and to the lawyers within the Practice Group via email updates and other processes
  • Promote awareness and utilization of available knowledge resource
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, Senior KM Manager, and Practice Group

Management of Knowledge Management Resources

  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of KM resources to ensure accuracy, currency, and relevance
  • Consistently and effectively communicate the availability and location of the Practice Group’s knowledge management resources
  • Coordinate with contractors engaged in substantive updates to KM resources
  • Collaborate with researchers to obtain regulatory guidance documents and related materials
  • Manage the transition of data from Excel files into Word documents to support cleaner redlining, version control, and more efficient updating processes

AI / Technology

  • Pilot new AI and technology
  • Help test and deploy innovative technology to reduce manual data collection, automate document creation, assist with legal research, and otherwise support the Practice Group

Target Hiring Range $131,000 - $185,000

Please note that quoted salary ranges are not guarantees of what final salary offers may be. Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that MWE provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work. Full time positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
