Laboratory Technician I

Neogen is looking for a Lab Tech I to join our DNA Extraction team! This position performs laboratory tests and production support services through sample processing and DNA extraction. Our Lab Tech I use a variety of scientific techniques, instrumentation, and disciplines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform sample prep, DNA extraction, and quality analysis prior to genotyping

• Use molecular biology techniques and lab instrumentation

• Maintain lab notebooks, archives, and sample repositories

• Follow SOPs and ISO procedures accurately

• Support lab upkeep: supply ordering, equipment calibration, and cleanliness

• Assist in training new lab assistants and interns

• Contribute to process improvement and lab efficiency

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in a science-related field or 1-2 years of lab experience

• Bachelor's degree preferred

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel)

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
