Landscaping and Groundskeeping Assistant at Rainbow Acres
Responsible for performing routine landscaping and grounds maintenance to ensure the ranch remains safe, clean, and visually appealing. Duties include mowing, trimming, irrigation system upkeep, debris removal, and other related tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate hand tools, power equipment, and vehicles (e.g., tractors, mowers, chainsaws) for landscaping and grounds maintenance.
- Maintain lawns, trees, plants, and specialty features through watering, trimming, fertilizing, and seasonal care.
- Perform general upkeep of outdoor areas including sidewalks, parking lots, and snow removal if/when necessary.
- Apply chemicals such as fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides safely and according to instructions.
Additional Information:
- This is a safety-sensitive position, requiring a high level of responsibility and awareness.
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of groundskeeping and landscaping practices and procedures. Thorough understanding of how to care for various types of lawns, greenery, and plants.
- The ability to operate various types of power equipment including lawn mowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and other landscaping equipment.
- Ability to meet all clearance requirements, including:
- Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Background check
- Pre-employment physical
- Drug screening
- Reference check
- Verification of absence from the Arizona Adult Protective Services Registry
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Demonstrate strong ethical standards and moral character, with sensitivity to the needs of our Residents/Ranchers.
- Evidence of a strong Christian commitment is desirable and aligns with the values of Rainbow Acres.
Skills
- Must have good verbal communication skills.
- The ability to follow directions, work efficiently and thoroughly, and complete assignments
- Ability to navigate the terrain of the ranch safely and effectively.
