You'll oversee daily operations, facilitate group activities, and ensure documentation standards are met - all while acting as a role model for both clients and staff. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to Behavioral Health Technicians on the same shift
  • Coordinate and oversee daily activities for clients, promoting a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Facilitate education and recreation groups, and assist in preparing group materials
  • Model and reinforce appropriate behavior while orienting new clients and staff
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate BHT performance, including completing performance reviews
  • Assist with staff scheduling and provide coverage for vacant shifts
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Participate in team meetings, collaborate with clinical leadership, and support crisis de-escalation
  • Adhere to medication administration policies and assist trained BHTs in doing the same
  • Perform all duties of a Behavioral Health Technician as needed

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, psychiatric nursing, or a closely related field; OR
  • High school diploma or GED with two (2) years of responsible employment history
  • Experience in Human Services or a related field preferred
  • For St. Louis County programs: Bachelor's degree, OR MAADC I or II
  • For Residential Care Facility (RCF): Must become credentialed as a Level 1 Med Aid (LIMA) and be Insulin Certified within the first 90 days in position

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age to operate a company-owned vehicle
  • Must be at least 23 years of age to operate a 15-passenger company van
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required
  • Must successfully pass background check, including criminal, driving, and abuse/neglect screening
  • First Aid and CPR certification required within 3 months of hire and upon renewal date
  • Completion of Behavioral Management training (CPI for Residential programs or Crisis Management on Relias for Outpatient) within 30 days of hire
  • Must complete 40 hours of related training annually (36 hours within first 2 years per 9 CSR 10-7.110 E 1)
  • Must complete 50 hours of ASAM training annually
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills required
  • Proficient with basic keyboarding and electronic medical record documentation

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this role, employees are regularly required to stand, walk, sit for extended periods, climb stairs, kneel, crouch, bend, stoop, and use hands for writing and typing. Must be able to talk and hear to respond to in-person and phone communication. May occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

For Residential Care Facility (RCF): Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
