Lead Math Instructor (Afternoons 2 - 7 PM, Monday - Friday)

Location: Mathnasium of Norman

Job Type: Part-time (Weekdays Only)

About Mathnasium

Mathnasium is a math-only learning center that helps students in grades Pre-K through 12 understand math by teaching the way that makes sense to them. We use the proprietary Mathnasium Method to build confidence, mastery, and a genuine love for learning.

Our team is passionate about helping students catch up, keep up, and get ahead in math - all in a positive, supportive, and structured environment.

Position Summary

We're looking for an enthusiastic Lead Instructor who can guide students through math instruction while mentoring a team of instructors. This role is ideal for someone who loves math, enjoys leadership, and thrives in a fast-paced after-school environment.

This position requires consistent availability Monday-Friday, 2:00-7:00 PM.

What You'll Do

  • Teach students using the Mathnasium Method and our proven curriculum
  • Supervise and coach instructors to ensure an effective learning environment
  • Assign students to instructors and maintain balanced student-teacher ratios
  • Review and update student learning plans and mastery checks
  • Administer and grade student assessments
  • Communicate student progress to parents using Mathnasium reports
  • Ensure smooth daily operations when the Center Director is unavailable
  • Create a positive, engaging, and productive learning atmosphere

Qualifications

Required:

  • Consistent availability Monday-Friday, 2-7 PM
  • Strong math skills through Algebra II and Geometry
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Dependable, proactive, and team-oriented

Preferred:

  • Experience teaching or tutoring math (middle school, high school, or college level)
  • Knowledge of higher-level math (Precalculus, Trigonometry)
  • Prior leadership or mentoring experience in an academic setting
