Job Description
PotomacWave is seeking a Lead Oracle Federal Financials Consultant to join our team supporting a federal client in Springfield, VA. This is a remote position but in-person attendance at client-site meetings may be required on-occasion. This role oversees a team of senior Oracle R12 specialists and supports critical financial operations, modernization initiatives, and process improvement efforts for a large federal environment. This position requires deep expertise in federal financial management, Oracle R12 functionality, and the ability to lead complex, multi-functional efforts with minimal oversight.Responsibilities:Team Leadership & Oversight
- Lead and mentor a team of senior Oracle Federal Financials R12 consultants
- Coordinate work assignments, assess performance, and ensure timely delivery of all technical and functional tasks
- Support daily system operations, key interfaces (excluding travel), and ongoing modernization activities
- Analyze and resolve complex system issues across all FSB functional areas
- Develop functional documentation, white papers, and issue-resolution reports
- Provide expertise across core Oracle Federal Financials modules, including:
- P2P, G-invoicing, AP/MarkView, PA, BE, AR, Fixed Assets/Sunflower, GL, Payroll, ALM, Reporting, and additional financial processes
- Review Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), functional and technical designs, and system test plans
- Lead or participate in system testing and validate results
- Collaborate with Reporting & Data Services (RDS) to document detailed report specifications
- Support quarterly metrics reviews, CFO-designation assessments, and SDLC coordination activities
- Perform data reconciliation and provide analytical support where required
- Deliver end-user training (in-person and virtual)
- Update or create training materials to support new processes or system enhancements
- Assist with data conversion, configuration changes, and system performance troubleshooting
- Provide CM (Configuration Management) support and participate in compliance assessments
- Support fiscal year-end close activities and reporting requirements
- Document and refine standard operating procedures
- Contribute to FSMS-aligned process improvement initiatives and operational efficiency enhancements
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience with Oracle databases
- Strong communication, documentation, and project coordination skills
- Strong team leadership abilities
- Experience with Oracle Federal Financials R12
- Must be a US Citizen capable of obtaining DHS suitability
