The Boeing CompanyWe are seeking Lead Propulsion Fuels Systems Design and Certification Engineer to join Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) to support the Interiors Team to support our 777X programs in Everett, WA. Position Responsibilities:
Create / lead teams through Fuels Development Assurance reviews
Create or update documents like system safety analysis and airworthiness limitations for 777
Coordinate/ develop/ publish test plans, reports, and procedures
Perform analysis using test or certification data
Provide support for safety and compliance investigations
Manage and prioritize multiple tasks in support of certification and airplane delivery schedules
Interface with suppliers and external partners to drive successful collaborations on Propulsion Fuels projects
Coordinate with internal partners such as EME, RM&T, ASE, Stress, Flight Test, Service Engineering, and Reg Admin to successfully meet project goals and schedules
Maintains Boeing design oversight of vendor-provided fuel system Components
Supports vendor engineering change proposals, including review and approval of supplier drawings and documents
Assists in managing Boeing Specification Control Document (SCD) requirements, including SCD revisions and new development if required
Engagement with vendors to establish qualification test requirements, planning, and execution
Assists in developing design solutions to support product improvements
Coordinate/ develop/ publish test plans, reports, and procedures
Perform analysis using test or certification data
Provide support for safety and compliance investigations
Manage and prioritize multiple tasks in support of certification and airplane delivery schedules
Interface with suppliers and external partners to drive successful collaborations on Propulsion Fuels projects
Coordinate with internal partners such as EME, RM&T, ASE, Stress, Flight Test, Service Engineering, and Reg Admin to successfully meet project goals and schedules
Lead teams to assure proper integration of propulsion/fuels changes with other airplane systems
Communicate project status, risks, issues, and opportunities to Propulsion and Program Leadership
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
5+ years of experience in Propulsion Engineering
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3+ years of Development Assurance experience – such as Leading DARs, Requirements Validation/Verification, Systems V&V
Knowledge of airplane fuels systems and architecture
Strong technical skills and demonstrated ability to understand complex problems
Strong project and time management skills; Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects in support of key milestones and aircraft delivery schedules
Excellent communication skills; Ability to clearly communicate complex scenarios with internal and external Leaders and technical SMEs is required
Experience working multi-disciplinary projects
Experience working regulation exemption and/or equivalent level of safety (ELOS) process is preferred
Knowledge of airplane safety is preferred
Experience with certification is preferred
Understanding of large transport category aircraft certification process is preferred
Familiarity with CFR 25.981 and/or 25.1309 is preferred
Able to work under general supervision and self-direct work based on needs of customers, product, and stakeholders
Able to represent the company professionally in demanding environments
Able to work effectively with the entire value stream to accomplish desired results
Able to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
Able to independently develop innovative solutions that meet business targets

Summary Pay Range for Lead (Level 4): $138,550 – $187,450
