Job Description
Full-service Texas firm seeking Two Legal Assistants for their Houston office. These are hybrid roles with a combination of secretarial and paralegal responsibilities. The firm provides a very collaborative and team-oriented environment. Schedule: 100% in office Hours: 8am-5pm Benefits: Parking is 100% paid and they offer full benefits Key Responsibilities/Details The docket they will be working on is primarily a commercial litigation docket with a little oil and gas and bankruptcy They will be billing their time (if they do not have billing experience, they will train on that) These are large voluminous cases Schedule and coordinate depositions, court reporters, and videographers. Input information into time and billing, customer relationship management, and document management systems Draft, type, format, and revise many different types of legal, agency, and business documents. Assist with discovery responses Calendar deadlines from incoming mail, pleadings, and hearings E-file in state and federal courts and make service on opposing parties. Maintain files and indexes. Schedule appointments, receive and make telephone calls, open and sort mail, make travel arrangements, and perform other administrative duties. Maintain privacy rules by not revealing information other than to the appropriate parties involved in a legal action. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: · 5+ years litigation experience . Bachelors degree a plus. A combination of education and experience may be considered. · Proficient with local, state, and federal filing rules, elementary legal procedures, and legal and business terminology. · Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Familiar with any enterprise time and billing system, preferably Emburse and iTimeKeep. · Familiar with any customer relationship management system. · Familiar with any document management system, preferably iManage. · Proficient with transcription equipment and able to transcribe. · Detail oriented and able to prioritize, multi-task, and work well under pressure. · Professional, polite, and positive client-centric attitude.
